German 2 Pacing and Alignment Guide
Durham Public Schools, Durham, North Carolina
Prepared, February, 2005 for first Implementation in school year 2005-2006
This alignment guide is designed for 4 X 4 block schedule, whereby students take 4 90-minute classes per day for a semester.
The number of days of instruction for the semester is 90, and these days are parceled into units during which the communicative
and linguistic functions listed below are covered by the teacher.
Assessments
For each unit, teacher can use a variety of assessment tools to determine competency. These include the standard,
textbook-driven homework assignments, quizzes, tests, workbook pages.
Project Based Assessments - Used in addition to or in lieu of more traditional assessment tools.
The following are examples of project-based assessment tools and the communicative modes
they assess.
