Separable verbal prefixes in German |
In German there are many many verbs that have a separable prefix. Here is a list some of verbs; their prefixes are highlighted red.

With these verbs, the prefix separates from the main part of the verb and is placed at the very end of the sentence. The main part of the verb is in its normal second position and is conjugated appropriately with its subject. Study these examples:
It doesn't matter how many sentence elements are in the syntactic field between the main verb and the prefix at the end. The prefix is placed at the end of the sentence. |
