Remember your script needs to describe not only action but also the dialogue. I have for you below an extract from the great dramatic poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832), Faust. The players in this short extract are Margarete, Faust's love interest, Faust himself, the doctor / philosopher, and Mephistopheles, the devil, who tempts, entices and grants Faust every wish in exchange for his soul. My notes are in parentheses.
Abend. Ein kleines reinliches Zimmer. (Short line telling when (Abend) and where) These intros to the dialogue can be as long you want.)
Ich gäb was drum, wenn ich nur wüßt,
Wer heut der Herr gewesen ist!
Er sah gewiß recht wacker aus
Und ist aus einem edlen Haus;
Das konnt ich ihm an der Stirne lesen-
Er wär auch sonst nicht so keck gewesen.
(Ab.) (Meaning Margarete leaves the stage.)
Herein, ganz leise, nur herein!
Ich bitte dich, laß mich allein!
Nicht jedes Mädchen hält so rein.
(Ab.)
Adding original soundtrack music and doing voice overdubs is strongly encouraged.
The story board demands a similiar written product, only it's format will be more narrative in nature, i.e., written as a novel or a short story, with description and quotations. The texts will be typed in large, more ornamental font and pasted along side your original pictures of many of the scenes. The whole story will be nicely titled and the poster boards should be decorated. You may use perhaps small pictures cut out from magazines, pictures of the scenes of your story, labelled accurately. You may draw also on your posters, drawings and borders, etc. Your original snapshots can be scanned and manipulated by image editing software, if you are so inclined to learn the software. In this way you can further extend your project creatively. Ask me for assistance in this regard.
