World of ScienceScience is the preeminent tool by which we better understand the natural, physical and psychical worlds. It also represents the initial raison d'etre of the Internet and World Wide Web: scientists from around the world have always shared their experimental and theoretical insights with one another through the Internet, thereby advancing the cause of science and thus human civilization. So this page is an ode to Scientific Thinking. On your right and left are a small collection of my favorite science-based websites. I have used these resources since I began my Internet Odyssey in 1996, and the fact that they're still extant on the WWW is testimony to their overall excellence. The primordial seed of my scientific journeys on the Internet is, of course, Foundations of Science, a ramshackle website I put together and utilized with great effect in some early classes I taught at Southern High School. Those were very exciting days on the WWW, when it wasn't so widespread, and the possibilities of its instructional utility were still being explored. The Internet is, in my view, the most important advance in civilization I have ever experienced. I was proud of these early efforts at instructional integration, so I provide you with a link to the Original Science Class Website on the Internet, Foundations of Science. One day I'll update it fully, but it still remains a vital resource of Science on the Internet. |
